Anyone can do their own taxes, right?

While this is true, think of the time spent, the cost of the tax software and maybe even some frustrations thrown in there. Add up those hours. Now think of what else you could be doing during that time. Is it worth it?

Are you left you with more questions than answers? Are you confused and overwhelmed by all the forms? Not sure what you can take as deductions and where to take them? Tax regulations change yearly, so it could take hours researching an issue related to a situation. Even then you might not have a clear answer.

Plus, how do you know what you entered is accurate? What if you’ve made a costly mistake?

These are some of the reasons I recommend hiring a professional to ease the burden. Why not do what you do best and leave taxes to the professional?

My process

Once you’re ready to use my tax preparation services, I’ll have you sign an engagement letter. This states the services to be performed, the price and any responsibilities of both you and I. Being location independent myself, I use an online secure portal for sharing documents. You upload any tax or financial documents there.

Once your documents are uploaded, I’ll get started on your return. If I have questions I ask them via email, so there’s a written record of your answers. Once the return has been completed I request an electronic signature for e-filing. I also provide the completed return for your review and records.

Once you have paid your invoice, I electronically file your return.
